This is a rare 1930s Angelus “Foursome” desk or travel alarm clock and weather station. The clock has an 8-day stem-wind SF240 movement with no alarm, making it ideal for use in a Panerai homage watch. The design of the Advance / Retard scale shows that this is the first edition of the SF240, made between 1936 & 1939. See the illustration about half-way down this reference website : perezcope.com/2015/12/11/the-evolution-of-the-angelus-240/ The clock was not serviced in my ownership. It is currently accurate to about 1-2 minutes in 24 hours. After a full service and regulation, I expect it will be more accurate. The calendar is mechanically linked to the clock, so the day & date should go forward as the clock runs, but sometimes they stick. Again a service should fix that. As usual, the month needs to be manually advanced. The thermometer and barometer do not seem to be changing, and I don’t know if they can be fixed. The brass dials are all in good vintage condition, but the surrounding frame has a lot of wear, scratches and tarnishing. The folding croco leather case is in very good condition – the best I have ever seen – with just a few small scuffs to show its age. One of the hinge-pins which links the clock to the case is missing, but with a little care the clock will stay in its case and sit upright to display the dials. My photos are part of the description.
