This plug-and-play PID controller regulates the temperature of the electric smokers, such as Smokin-it®, Smokin Tex and Masterbuilt Smoker. This controller uses a PID algorithm to automatically adjust power to the heater to compensate for disturbances from sunlight and wind. In addition, the smoker controller holds high precision, maintaining the temperature within a one degree interval. This model has also been updated with an app-based WiFi system. AW-1520H is Auber’s 2nd generation electric smoker controller based on the previous model (WSD-1500H-W). With a newly designed WiFi chip, this model proves superior with improved router compatibility (including mesh router) and alarm (push) notification features. This controller has three temperature sensor ports, 6 programmable steps, and an AC output synchronized with program step(s). Users can utilize the first probe to control the temperature of the smoker cabinet. The second probe with pointed tip (WS-SENSOR18) can be inserted directly into the food to monitor internal temperatures. The (optional) third probe serves the same purpose of option 2, to measure the internal temperature of food. The ending criteria of each step can be determined by either preset time, or preset internal food temperature (second probe). For cooking small sized foods or smoking the surface of the food, users can use the preset time as a reference point to finish the step. Using the meat probe(s) is important when cooking large amounts of food because they act as a reference point to understand how long to cook the food for. For example: You can program the temperature to start at 120°F for 1.5 hour of smoking, rise to 132°F for 2.5 hours and finish at 190°F until the internal temperature reaches 170°F. The controller will either turn on its internal buzzer to let you know when the food is ready, or drop the temperature to a lower set point to keep the food warm until you are ready to serve it. This saves you time by avoiding manually changing the settings of the smoker after each step is completed. The synchronized AC output can be used to turn on and off the smoker generator with the program step(s). For example, you can program the smoker to dry the sausage at 140°F until the internal temperature reaches 100°F (step 1), turn on a smoker generator for 2 hours at 150°F (step 2), then turn off the generator to continue the next step.Wi-Fi Connection: This electric smoker controller can be operated via your smartphone and WiFi connection. The Auber app offers a friendly and functional interface that is easy to use, giving a sense that your phone is a part of your controller.What the wireless connection offers: Simple remote access. The Auber app allows you to check the temperature reading while also giving the ability to change settings from anywhere at any time (as long as your smartphone has access to the internet). You’ll be able to monitor the device when you are not at home, doing grocery shopping, or traveling in another city.Easy to view and analyze performance. Our app offers graphical analysis and plots to show the temperature data over the time. You can also export the data to a CSV file for further and more in depth examination.User-friendly interface. The front keys on the smoker controller are small for some customers. Setting up your controller through the app prevents you from that bothersome task. Easy, fast and smart. To change parameters on its keypad, you might also have to recheck the manual from time to time to learn what these parameters do. In contrast, when you change the controller’s settings from the AuberWIFI app, the function and the setting range of each parameter will be denoted on the screen to save the hassle of checking the operation manual ever so often. An integrated solution. The AuberWIFI app makes the smartphone a part of the controller system. The system has more functions and is easier to operate. Moreover, you can manage multiple devices from the Auber Smart Device family just with a few clicks. Instead of using one app for only one type of device, our smart phone app is the central control console and hub for different types of AuberWIFI devices. You will get a better user experience than web based interfaces of other Wi-Fi enabled devices. Temperature Probe: This controller has comes with three probes by default: Probe 1, which measures the temperature in the smoker cabinet. The original free-hanging sensor can be fed through the venting hole and provides very accurate temperature reading. Probe 2, which measures the food internal temperature.
