THE CLOCK AND WATCH STORE Click images to enlarge Description Maker: Wakmann Breitling Watch Company c.1960’s Model: Triple Date Chronograph ref. 71.1309.70 Description: This is a vintage Wakmann Breitling triple date/triple register chronograph mens wristwatch and powered by a 17 jewel Valjoux 730 hand winding movement in stainless steel case for restoration. This is a very desirable model having the “reverse panda” dial and stainless steel case. The watch does run and has been running for about 6 hours straight however, it is being sold as a non-running watch due to the unknowns. The hands are a bit un-even and the minute hand tends to grab the sweep second hand. When I purchased it about a year ago, it was zero’d out but now the hand sits slightly past the 12 position. It has a cracked crystal and unfortunately, the minute counter register hand and seconds bit have flown the coupe and no longer present. The buttons on the chrono are sticky but they will work and activate the chronograph feature. This watch will need servicing and I have no idea when the last time it had one done. The movement is a beautiful and desirable rhodium plated movement signed Valjoux 730. The case has some heavy nicks and the date pusher has been sheered off. The pushers are still there but only the month is working and the date is frozen. The day wheel will advance and only the date indicator hand is currently frozen up. The stem and crown look like an after thought and will need to be cut down to fit correctly to the case. It will make a decent watch in capable hands. I have been on a buying spree and some unexpected events popped up, causing me to do a catch and release on some fine watches I was hoping to restore over the next few years. The last picture shows what I will be listing over the next few days so, if I am not in your favorite sellers list, you may want to save my site so you don’t miss anything coming up. Again, last picture is NOT INCLUDED and only a reference of what I have coming up to sell in future listings. I take great care in packaging all the items being sold but, I especially take extra precautions when packing clocks. I do everything I can to prevent your clock arriving damaged.
