~ VINTAGE AVIVA ~ **~ 1970s PEANUTS’ GANG SNOOPY ~**~* FOOTBALL: “GO BEARS” *~*~ ENAMEL & METAL SMALL PIN ~*NO RESERVE_______________________________ SIZE: Snoopy measures: 1″ in height; 5/8″ in width DESCRIPTION: This auction features a vintage Snoopy pin by Aviva. The them for this pin appears to be Snoopy playing football. He is wearing a blue helmet, with a matching blue jersey with the #1 in the middle of it. In addition to this, there is also a small amount of white and brown enameling, as well. On the very bottom it reads, “GO BEARS.” I believe is likely in reference to the Chicago Bears. The back is a gold-tone metal and bears a small, safety clasp closure which does still open and close correctly. It is marked on the back; however, part of the pin piece is covering much of the marking. Even so, the following can still be seen on the left and right sides: “Aviva Taiwan {Left side}” and “c. United Features {Right Side}.” Although I do feel this piece was likely worn and loved in the past, I do still believe that it could be used well into the coming years, too. CONDITION: FAIR ~ I am considering the age and use of this item when factoring the condition rating. This small pin appears to be in Fair condition for the age and use. As would be expected with something of this age, there is some minor usage wear seen — mostly in the form of minor surface scratches. These are mostly localized to the back, though. In addition to this, I did note a tiny sliver of white enamel that is missing or chipped off. This DOES NOT show the metal underneath, but can be seen under a magnifier. I have tried to show this in one of the pictures below, as well. There is some minor soiling AND wear seen to the gold-tone metal on the back, as well. I suspect most of this is likely age / storage wear, but it can be seen — particularly when viewed under a magnifying glass or loupe. The safety clasp pin closure does still open correctly and securely, as well. Other than what is mentioned above, I do not see any other major issues with this piece. If there is anything I may have missed where the condition is concerned, please feel free to message me and I’ll be happy to help. With age and use considered, I would still say both pieces rate in Fair condition overall.
