I hand screen the small chunks to get the coarse ground, then I remove most of the powder by hand sifting it through a fine mesh stainless steel sieve. Because I do it this way there is a lot more dark in the powder than if you just crushed chunks. So you can use less to get the same results. Although this process takes a lot of time and is dusty work, it’s worth it because it dramatically reduces powder resulting in a low sediment tea when using small chunks and or coarse ground, and the powder is more dense. You can freeze the small chunks and or grounds and use them over and over again. I, as a rule, add a little extra to your order so you will receive an even better deal. *** If you grind Chaga chunks yourself you will get a lot of powder in your tea.
