Aria Pro II PE-F80 LTD BKTP (Blacktop) Limited Edition with gig bag Description Condition: New Limited edition! The popular flat-back PE-F80 LTD with performance and sound beyond its price has now been added with a black top! The flat-back PE-F80 LTD with a black top and gold parts is now available! The best-selling PE-R80 model, which boasted an overwhelming degree of perfection as a PE representing the 1980s, is famous as a favorite instrument of professional guitarists of the early fusion era, such as Katsumi Watanabe and Masaki Matsubara. The “PE-F80” announced at this year’s NAMM SHOW 2023 was a much talked-about model with a flat-back design and excellent cost performance. However, we are not just selling the overseas version as it is, but we have changed some of the specifications to a model that is filled with the passion of our PE enthusiasts, and will be releasing it as the “PE-F80 LTD” (Limited) model! We have asked Arai Boeki, the manufacturer of the PE-F80 LTD, to change some of the specifications and deliver it to you in Japan. Of course, these are the official specifications of the manufacturer. First, let’s take a look at the changes of the “PE-F80 LTD” (Limited) model from the regular model. Change #1 Both front and rear pickups have been changed to Aria’s original Classic Power (made in Japan) pickups, the same as the current PE-R80. Moreover, they are gold-covered, custom-made, elegant gold pickups made in Japan. This is the same pickups as the current higher model “PE-R80”. The “Classic Power” pickups with alnico magnets were developed in the early 80’s with reference to the Gibson P.A.F., and with the full cooperation of guitarist Katsumi Watanabe, over 100 prototypes were made before they were finally completed. The pickups are humbuckers with a brightness that does not get buried in the band sound. The single coil tone when switched to parallel is also superb. Modification No. 2 The control knob has been changed to a Japanese barrel knob with a dimple like the PE-R80. This knob is more comfortable to use than the normal speed knob and allows for fine tuning. This knob is the most famous PE knob, so we have changed it. Change point No. 3 We changed the pegs from no-name brand keystone pegs to Japanese-made Gotoh pegs. The pegs have been changed to “GOTOH SG301” which is the same as those on PE-R80. This has dramatically improved the tuning accuracy. It is rare to have Gotoh pegs on a guitar in this price range, but we asked Gotoh to install these pegs because they are an important part of the tuning system. Change #4 The ABC-300EG gig case with high cushioning is included! Aria’s best-selling gig bag, priced at 6,600 (incl.), is included. Waterproof fabric and zippers are used. A removable neck pillow is also included, with 18mm padding to protect your instrument. This case is ideal for safely carrying and storing this model with an angled neck. It is also equipped with two pockets, including a large pocket that can easily hold an A4-size bag. In addition to the carrying handle and rucksack style strap, it also has a grab handle for convenient vertical carrying. These are the changes from the original PE-F80 model. Now let’s take a look at the specifications of the original PE-F80. The “PE-F80” has the same specs as the higher-end model, such as cloud-shaped inlays, SPT Bridge & QH Tailpiece, Dual Sound switch, etc., but the body is made of Okume wood. The body is made of Okume wood and the neck is made of Nato wood, with a flat back. This wood has excellent acoustic characteristics and has been used by many famous manufacturers in recent years as a substitute for Mahogany, so you can be assured of its sound and strength. The set neck is heel-less, allowing smooth fingering without stress even in the high position, which is usually difficult to play on Les Pauls. The Japanese-made “Classic Power” pickups, which were installed by the manufacturer, can be switched between series and parallel. The “DOWN” position is series (serial) and the “UP” position is parallel. The “DOWN” position is for the front (serial) and the “UP” position is for the rear (parallel). It is also possible to mix the rear humbucker sound with a single front sound, giving it a much wider sound variation than most electric guitars. The controls are mounted a little low in the body, not only for a beautiful appearance, but also to prevent them from getting in the way of the right hand’s cutting. This guitar is much easier to play than it looks. It is no wonder that this guitar is based on the “PE-R80,” a model that fusion guitarists were flocking to in the 80’s.
