Apothecary Jar or Flower Vase, Bulging-Waist, Clear Glass CottageCore, Unique Collectible, Exotic Sensual Fertility DecorA Vivacious Vase or Apothecary Jar This lovely vase or jar measures about 6 inches tall, 2.25 inches in diameter at the top, and 2.75 inches in diameter at the bottom. The bulge in the middle is about 3 inches in diameter and the narrow base before it flares to about 2 inches in diameter. The shape is unusual and intriguing, with a bulging waist, a flared bottom, and a straight top; a lively, exotic, and sensual body, much like ancient health and fertility symbols and figurines. The number on the bottom is 26. I do not know the maker. However, based on the estate, I suspect it is from the mid-century, likely the 1940s, or older. It’s a heavy vase or jar and will be very stable. Besides flowers, I might also use it to hold colorful items as decor, like marbles or lake stones. Or, perhaps even fill it with small jellybeans as a birthday centerpiece.
